3.57.58pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 31st Aug 2009

Following another win by the Lib Dems at Hucknall Central, the Leader of the Lib Dems at Ashfield Jason Zadrozny said there is no confidence in the Labour run council.

Labour was put back into power at the Ashfield District Council in May by virtue of a 'shabby deal (a coalition between Labour, the Conservatives and Independents)' Hucknall Dispatch Friday Aug 28 2009.

Jason Zadrozny said, "people have rejected Labour and voted against them in large numbers at recent elections."

"If you walk on Hucknall Market Place and ask 100 people who they want to run the Council, I wonder how many of those would say Labour?"

The Liberal Democrats are the largest party on Ashfield District Council with 13 seats. Labour have eight, Independents seven, the Conservatives three, and Selston Independents group two.
