But even she is too young to remember the last time there were Liberals in government outside of wartime. So it's no surprise that many activists are unsure how to copewith the practicalities of our party being in government in Westminster.Being in government offers great opportunities to turn our complaints and our campaigns into actual change.Ed Maxfield who was second on the party's Euro list in the East Midlands in 2009, has been an active campaigner for over twenty years and is at present Senior Public Affairs Officer at Universities UK will describe how we might adapt our campaigning techniques to being in government (by using experience from NGO campaigning and lobbying) at a work shop and training session which will be held on Wednesday 6th October at New Mills Cricket Club, Church Road, New Mills, SK22 4NJThis should be a very useful meeting in the run up to the Referendum and Local Elections to which all members are invited. The meeting will start with an informal buffet - only £2.00 at 7.00pm follwed by the talk and discussion at 7.45pm.Tickets (£2.00) on the door but we would be grateful if you could let me know if you are coming to the buffet so that we can arrange catering.Shirley HoltMembership Development Officer High Peak Liberal DemocratsThe Barn, High Street, Stoney Middleton Hope Valley S32 4TL 01433 631051,07740 919912 membership@highpeaklibdems.org.uk Liberal Drinks Nottingham7.30pm to 9.30pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 14th Oct 2010, at Fellows Morton and Clayton, 54 Canal Street, Nottingham, Every month, Lib Dem campaigners and their friends meet up for an informal drink and chinwag on the events of the day.
